Studi Eksplorasi Tentang Inovasi Pada Industri Suku Cadang Otomotif Di Kabupaten Tangerang
Manufacturing SMEs have an important role in the development of industry and national economy. However, many manufacturing SMEs have difficulties in fulfilling this important role. The main problems faced by SMEs manufacturing in general is the lack of resources so that they can not optimize their internal resources and operate as befits the big companies. The main objective of this study was to evaluate innovation typology, process innovation, and activities at each stage of the process in the automotive component industry located in Tangerang district, Banten Province. Based on the data analysis, this study found that innovation in the automotive components industry can be classified into four types; namely product innovation, production process innovation, organizational innovation and marketing innovation. Of the four types of innovation, production process innovation is an innovation type that is most often committed by the companies. Furthermore, the study found that the process of innovation in the automotive component industry progresses through four stages; namely idea generation, innovation planning, testing, and implementation.
